It started with a soda factory…
The story of Storms AS begins with Alf Storm's soda factory. Since then, through five generations, the company has grown and developed, and is today a modern company specializing in flavor and aroma for the food industry.
Alf Storm is born
Alf Storm, son of Adolph Christian Storm and great-grandfather of today's 4th generation, was the man who started it all. He was born on January 4, 1857, and grew up at Rådhus Gade 19 in Christiania.
Alf tried to follow in his father's footsteps, and first established himself as a lithographer. This clearly did not suit Alf, who instead got a job as a chemist at Nora Mineralvandfabrik. After a few years he was promoted to technical manager, and was able to move into the company's manager's residence.
After 8 years in Nora, Alf left to start a new business.
Establishment of Vesta Juniper & Mineral Water Factory
In 1891, he joined forces with his study friend Olaf Hiort and established his own business, Vesta Juniper & Mineralvandfabrik.
Alf Storm starts his own factory
After 3 years in partnership with Olaf Hiort, Alf wanted to start his own business. He clearly had a flair for business challenges and traveled to Scotland to buy machinery for the new factory.
That same autumn, he was already working in Ebbells Gd 5 under the companies: Alf Storm, Juniper and Mineralvandfabrik.
Foundation of Storm's Chemical Laboratory
However, after a few years in the industry, the enterprising Alf had a great interest in the raw materials that went into his own soft drink products. From a German recipe book for various essences, he got tips and ideas for making his own flavorings for his soft drink.
On 1 March 1897, Alf founded, as a consequence of this, the essence factory Storms chemical laboratory .
Name change to Storms AS
After 115 years as Storms chem. Laboratorium A/S, the company name was changed to Storms AS.
Acquisition of the food division of Hans Claussen AS
Storms AS took over the food department of Hans Claussen AS and expanded its operations.
Storms AS became commercially responsible for Tate & Lyle Sugars Ltd, part of the world's largest sugar producer, ASR Group.
5th generation takes over management
Annette Storm is leaving wine importer Autentico to take over as general manager from her father.
New expertise strengthens management
Annette Storm , 5th generation in the Storm family, takes over as chairman of the board and Morten Hovland Sand takes over as the new CEO.
The company will be further developed as the leading aroma company in Norway with production and a large new warehouse at Vøyenenga in Bærum.
Storms AS has delivered Great taste since 1897, and will be the preferred Norwegian partner for all Norwegian food companies.

Contract manufacturing and contract bottling
We offer rental production and rental bottling of liquid products on our own bottling line.
We bottle both glass and PET. We are flexible in bottle sizes, and we can bottle small and medium-sized batches.
Flexibility and fast delivery are our specialty.

In our research and development laboratory, continuous development of aromas, extracts, colors and fruit concentrates is carried out.
